MAGNUS JÖRGEL AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
International relations (IR) or International studies (IS)[1] represents the study of foreign affairs and global issues among states within the international system, including the roles of states, inter-governmental organizations (IGOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international nongovernmental organizations (INGOs), and multinational corporations (MNCs).

It is both an academic and public policy field, and can be either positive or normative as it both seeks to analyze as well as formulate the foreign policy of particular states. It is often considered a branch of political science (especially after 1988 UNESCO nomenclature), but an important sector of academia prefer to treat it as an interdisciplinary field of study.

Apart from political science, IR draws upon such diverse fields as economics, history, international law, philosophy, geography, social work, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and cultural studies / culturology. It involves a diverse range of issues including but not limited to: globalization, state sovereignty, ecological sustainability, nuclear proliferation, nationalism, economic development, global finance, terrorism, organized crime, human security, foreign interventionism and human rights.

Since 1998 Magnus have been involved in IR in many different forms, his studies at Kíngs College, London, and Swedish National Defence College, but also his research and other academic activities. Magnus research and research trips have been focused on conflicts, its rationale and context but also thier solutions. His work have been done mostly in Subsaharan Africa, his network spans from West African governments to ECOWAS, AU and UN.

Magnus have been invited to both EU and UN to talk on issuse of conflict, mediation and also on issues on resolutions and peaceagreements.

Below is a extraction of Magnus speach about ethnecity from the conference of "Folk och Försvar".
